Dear Reader, I know most of you would had been preparing well for over at least 6 months of time for your campus and off campus placements. But there comes a day when you will realize that a placement test is round the corner in about a week's time. This is the time when many tend to get nervous and in a rush to finish up the preparation, they get in a 'haste' mode which actually reduces the efficiency rather than improving.
Below are few tips to make last minute preparation very efficient :
Tip 1 : Use this time to relax and derive an actionable plan :
"Failing to plan is planning to fail" says a recent TV ad of an insurance company. Fortunately this applies to placements preparation as well. If you had not planned about how exactly you are going to approach your tests, this is the right time to do. Planning would involve identification of your areas of strength be it particular areas in quantitative aptitude, particular areas in technical aptitude, verbal etc. By this you can have a plan to prioritize your order of attending the questions, from the easiest to you to the hardest. By this, during exams, you can make the most in the shortest time possible.
Tip 2 : Solving Every Question During Last Week Can Kill Your Time :
I know the best approach to prepare for aptitude is to actually try solving the same and then looking the solution to check how accurate your solution is. This process is prone to consume 5 to 10 minutes for every question especially if you are not that strong in a particular chapter in aptitude. But during last week this can be a potential time killer. Instead, during last week you may actually go through the questions and solutions as you would if you read a novel.
Tip 3 : Don't Overlook Interview Preparation :
Many students often overlook interview preparation thinking that they can do it after they clear their placements. But believe, once you clear your tests, you will left with literally no time in most cases for your interview. Even if the interview is only during the following day of the test, you would be extremely tired during the day end of the placement test that you will not be in a great position to prepare for interviews. Hence it is good to simultaneously prepare a bit for interviews too.
