Aeronautical engineering is a branch of science which comprise of developing the conception of creation and operating techniques of aircraft.You can obtain the following degree for Aeronautical Engineering
- B. E. / B. Tech.
- Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.
- M. Tech.
- Ph. D.
The candidate has to be
- A 10 + 2 Science pass-out with high percentage of marks in Science
- They have to qualify for the IIT - JEE which is conducted by the IIT's in January and May.
The Madras Institute of Technology offers postgraduate programme in aeronautical engineering.
You can study M. Tech. and Ph.D. in aeronautics from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore as well as other IITs.Eligibility for M.Tech
The candidate should have
- Bachelor’s degree,
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Clear the GATE exam
- Clear GRE (graduate record examination).
- If he/she has M.Sc degree in aeronautics or aerospace
Course fee varies according to institutes. Usually it is around Rs.25, 000/+Taxes per semester basis. It remains described in the prospectus and it includes the tuition Fees + admission fees +Lib sec+ free course Exam +Reg. + Certification + Processing fees

It has eight compulsory papers.Section B
It has eight specialist streams, each consisting of seven papers.
(Those who have completed the Section A Examination are eligible to appear in the Section B Examination.)
Candidates possessing an engineering degree can directly appear in Section B but they have to appear in “Principles of Flight” of Section A.
Examinations happen in June and December.
